Our top selling brand on Supliful was making cancer claims on their supplements. We cut them. That month our revenue dropped 18%. Board asked if we had a plan to replace it. I said no. I said we are not a platform that lets people sell hope to cancer patients. That decision cost us six figures. I would make it again tomorrow.

Founder vulnerability is not useful by itself. I tried it. 304 impressions. 3 engagements. Then I shared a hard operating number, the margin pressure behind it, and the operating lesson. About 3,000 impressions. 83 engagements. Honesty needs a receipt.

One SKU was responsible for 40% of our mispicks. The reason was embarrassing. Two labels looked almost identical. Different formulas, same color scheme, same bottle shape. We spent weeks investigating fulfillment process. Turned out a $200 label redesign fixed what felt like a systems problem.

We launched Supliful with a Wordpress backend and a small room in Denver as the warehouse. Came in number 2 Product of the Day on Product Hunt. More planning would have given us a better site and zero customers.

In late 2020 we put $50K of our own money into Supliful. Not because that was heroic. Because spending your own money makes the feedback very clean. A bad assumption stops being theoretical when it hits your bank account.

Five years ago, on August 3, I opened Supliful’s first warehouse in Denver. COVID was still making travel complicated. The U.S. ambassador to Latvia emailed a confirmation to me that I could travel to the U.S. to get it open. I landed in Denver with two weeks to build something that could ship products. Basic shelves. A pallet of supplements already produced in Latvia. Nothing fancy. But it was ours. A few days later, I handed over the keys of the warehouse to Jason, our first hire I made a couple of days earlier. Then I flew home. My youngest son, Fricis, was born on August 14, two weeks after I got back. I made it. Barely. I keep thinking about the people who made that summer possible. Mara Lasmane has supported every unreasonable idea I have brought home, including this one. Janis Bergs from SAF Tehnika introduced me to Baiba Sisco, she helped me secure our first lease when no landlord had much reason to trust a random guy flying in from Latvia. Without them, this wouldn't be possible. Today, Supliful is a team of 50+ people around the world. We have shipped more than 2 million packages across the U.S. and built a manufacturing network of six partners and counting. But it started with a small warehouse in Denver, basic shelves, and one pallet from Latvia. This video is what it looked like.

The marketplace was the easy part. When I pitched Supliful, producers thought I was insane. They thought we could connect supply and demand without owning the hard work. So we built fulfillment and production in Denver. The hard work was the model.

2M+ orders taught me that the first sale can lie. A launch can look great because the story, founder, or discount worked. The second order tells you whether the product earned a place in the routine. Ecom operators focus way too less on retention.

2M+ orders shipped taught me this: the promise breaks long before the refund. Ad says one thing. Label says another. Support says maybe. That is not a marketing problem. It is an operating system problem.

I manage 50 people across Latvia, the Philippines, and Denver. Most of them have never met each other in person. I run standup calls where one person just woke up and another is about to go to sleep. Founder podcasts love talking about culture. They never mention that real culture means managing someone at midnight because that is the only hour that works.

More AI freedom does not mean more leverage. I learned that after seeing decisions only when the work was already done. Now agents prepare the work. I approve anything public. The hard part is not prompting. It is management.

A supplement brand can look finished and still not be ready to sell. Amazon now requires third-party cGMP verification for supplements. At Supliful, our name stays off the package. The compliance work does not. We help builders to scale on Amazon effortlessly.

I have been wrong more than I have been right. The advantage is I make decisions fast enough to be wrong three times before competitors are wrong once.

2M+ orders for thousands of brands. Most launched with one product, a small audience, and zero inventory. No manufacturer negotiations. No $10K bet before knowing if anyone would buy. They launched. They tested. They kept what worked.

We read every customer complaint. Not because support tickets are fun. Because complaints tell you where the operation broke after the sale. The customer already paid. Now the system has to prove it deserved the order.

AI can write a supplement landing page in minutes. It cannot manufacture the bottle, keep inventory accurate, or get the order out correctly. The software layer is getting cheaper. The operational layer is still the business.

The capital barrier that kept most founders out of CPG is gone. The new filter is not money. It is whether people keep buying.
