Postneedle

Check a draft before you post.

Waiting for your first sentence

Type your post. Six needles read it while you write, before anyone else does.

What the six needles read

Each needle is one yes-or-no question, answered by Jev with a probability. They are not our taste: five blind raters judged 150 posts with the author and the numbers hidden, and these are the questions they agreed on. Red means the answer is no. They read substance, not truth: a specific, first-hand post can still be wrong.

Vague

Nothing a reader could check or argue with: no fact, number, name or example. Hey everyone! is vague whoever writes it. Raters agreed at 0.64; Jev tracks them at 0.91.

Nothing new

A builder who follows AI and startups already knew it: a platitude, or news everyone saw. The strongest single sign: 81% of the posts raters found new were worth reading.

Secondhand

About other people's work, not the author's own: nothing they did, built, measured or lived. Raters agreed at 0.87, the highest of all; Jev tracks them at 0.97.

Nothing to use

No method to learn, mistake to avoid or decision to make. Only 13% of posts pass, so a pass is rare and means something.

Bait or brag

Fishing for replies, follows or likes, or bragging dressed as modesty. A genuine question you want answered is not bait. Shown on its own, not averaged into the score.

Hype

This changes everything without showing why. Shown on its own, not averaged into the score.

The signal is the first four together: across the panel's 150 posts it picked out the ones raters called worth reading (AUC 0.87, against 0.69 for the needles Postneedle used before). A post at 62 or more clears the bar.

Questions people ask

Can it prove a post was written by AI?

No, and it does not try to. It tells you how your own draft reads. Never use it to accuse anyone.

Does it work for LinkedIn and in Spanish?

Yes to both. Switch the preview to LinkedIn, and write in English or Spanish.

How is it this fast?

It runs on Jev, a System One model from TypeSafe AI that answers yes or no questions with a probability instead of writing text. All six questions go in one request and come back in well under a second, for about four thousandths of a cent.

Can I switch a needle off?

Yes. Tap a meter to switch it off and tap it again to switch it back on. A reading then asks one question fewer, so it costs less rather than more. The choice stays in this browser.

Is it free?

Reading accounts, Find, the leaderboard and the draft checker are free, with no account. Three things cost money: €1 to read an account right away when the day's free readings are gone, €9 for the full report of an account's last 200 posts, and €19 a month for a scouting feed. Pricing.

The card with your post and its readings

Post on X and Copy link make a public page with this post and its reading, so the card shows up in your post by itself. It is kept for a year; write to hello@postneedle.com to take it down sooner. Post on LinkedIn saves the card to your device and uploads nothing, because LinkedIn shows a shared link as a thumbnail too small to read. Copy image and Save image stay on your device too.
