Where people stop—and where they stay
Two small-app builders describe behaviour their headline numbers miss: a trial that never starts, and a user who keeps returning.

A trial button is not a started trial
Luka reports 26 installs, 17 people reaching the paywall and five tapping to start a trial. Four cancelled at Apple’s payment sheet; one payment was declined. None started a trial.
The useful question: which step actually completes? These are the maker’s reported observations. They do not establish why someone cancelled or which price would work.

Repeated use is a clue, not an explanation
Eric describes one user with 214 sessions across 35 consecutive days. Without accounts, he had no direct way to contact them and doubted an email invitation would get a response.
Repeated use and understanding someone’s reason for returning are different things. One person’s activity is not an app-wide retention rate.
